The patient is a previously healthy 48-year-old G2P2002 female, presenting with concerns of excessive fatigue and irritable mood swings in the setting of amenorrhea for 12 months which was preceded by a period of oligomenorrhea. Additionally, over the last year she endorses frequent nighttime awakenings with episodic hot flashes lasting ~5 minutes, 8-pound weight gain, with gradual onset of brittle nail changes and vaginal dryness/pruritus. Vitals are stable and physical exam notable for atrophic vaginal changes but is otherwise unremarkable.
